Musings Vol. 1: A Redemptive Trajectory

Originally published as a set of posts this version is expanded from those. I look at the ‘downward’ trajectory from Israel being a priesthood for the nations, through the appointment of the Levitical tribe, the establishment of a king and finally the Temple institution. Thus Israel is all-but one of the nations by the time of Jesus (the fullness of time). He comes to reverse that downward trajectory evidenced by the ripping of the Temple curtain.

Embracing Tomorrow

A book that will open up the prophetic – ideal as a guide, or to be used in a class setting. This version of Embracing Tomorrow also includes a short appendix on False Prophets. The book formed the basis for prophecy schools in Brazil and a foundation introduction to the prophetic for company of prophetic people.

The title itself is a challenge to do the opposite of Hezekiah. He asked for the clock to go back, we must request the clock to move forward.

For Such a Time as This

This book, originally published in 2001, is reprinted here with minimal changes. There is a short new section on ‘Junia’ as an apostle, and a few revisions. The material is as relevant now as it was ten years ago. It covers the material on women and their freedom, but in the process issues such as how to interpret the Scriptures is explored, the principles of which are applicable to many other subjects.

The Eschatology of the New Church Movement

This is a slightly adjusted copy of a MTh thesis I prepared for examination in January 1977. The research took place over the previous 2 years, and the period of focus is from 1970-96. Although the focus is on the UK, the application of the study will be applicable beyond that location.

The material also presents a challenge to movements to remain open and flexible as they develop.

Journeying Toward Transformation Vol. 1

This is an ebook version (slight adaptations) of the original book publised as Sowing Seeds for Revival / Gaining Ground. It covers material that develops strategic prayer, working from the premise that history is what shapes geography. What is here today is the result of yesterday, and what will be here tomorrow can be shaped today.

Journeying Toward Transformation Vol. 2

This is an ebook version (with some adaptations) of the original book published as Impacting the City. It explores the nature of city gifts, using the template of the seven cities in Revelation 2 and 3. I consider that the material here is a good follow on, once ground has begun to receive a measure of cleansing – as outlined in Volume 1. (A third volume is projected relating to interacting with the gates of society.)

Random Papers

Heaven and Hell: Death and beyond

This paper is an introduction to the issues surrounding personal eschatology, exploring both issues of final destinies ('heaven and hell') and the intermediate state (what happens between death and the return of Jesus).

The Land from a New Testament Perspective

There have been those who suggest that teaching on the land is simply an OT perspective and that it relates to Israel and her land. This is to miss the OT element that peoples are connected to land, and that ‘exiles’ occur for more people than the covenant people of Israel. This and other aspects I examine in this paper. This will be downloaded in booklet format.

Israel: a theological and eschatological approach

This is a paper I first presented in March 2003 at a conference looking at perspectives on Israel. It seeks to root our perspective firmly in the fufilment of Scripture taking place in Jesus, but then suggests that the particular expression within the land of Israel should be that of reconciliation.

Some thoughts on the resurrection

This a paper I prepared on the resurrection back in 1997. It is not an apologetic for the resurrection, but an attempt to put the ressurection more central and to see the effects of such an attempt. It is not to deny the reality of the cross but it wants to put a ‘resurrection-perspective’ on the Gospel.

Women and men released equally through the Gospel

This is a paper that was originally written for a day conference, in 1997 which looked at the issue of women in leadership. The paper was given out prior to the day and then was the basis for the first session. In the paper I sought, rather than focus on the biblical texts that restrict women, to examine the various issues surrounding the subject itself, so as to place it in a much wider context than simply that of ‘what does the Bible say directly on the subject of women and their role.

Chapter 10 from my Thesis on the Eschatology of the New Church Movement

I have placed Chapter 10 my MTh Thesis that I completed in 1997. We are now a decade on from that but I am amazed at the some of the comments within it when I consider the development (and struggles) within the movement since that time.

Chapter 13 from my book Embracing Tomorrow.

The book is on Prophetic gifting. This Chapter was on the issue of transitions.
